Bureaucratic Rhetoric

“The world is his, who can see through its pretension…

See it to be a lie, and you have already dealt it its moral blow.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Introduction

While rewatching John Oliver’s pieces on “DisabilityOpioid Epidemic, Medicaid, State Licensing Boards, Psychedelics, Addiction and public gambling, and Supreme Court Ethics Or Bill Mahar’s observations HERE OR watching any of the numerous documentaries, commentaries, and comedies on Netflix about psychedelic medicine, we thought about our lived experience as a licensed professional who has treated psychedelic (systemic, medical, and psychological traumas for 15 years), who has learned from the struggles of thousands regarding “the system”, who has heard from thousands about systemic traumas, and have helped them navigate the system’s bureaucratic rhetoric to some inhumane conclusion. What Oliver’s pieces do is exposes the truth about what some would consider the “deep state” or “the system”, which we find is the largest barrier to client obtaining timely help and healing. What we do know is that if comics like John Oliver, we should all be able to see “it”? Right? As Healers, we hold comics, musicians, and performers in a high regard because they are artists, which means that they are Healers in their own right because they perform rites (O’Brien, 2024a).
