10/6/24 marks the 57th anniversary of when LSD was made illegal by uninformed systems of power and control. Despite having a lot of medical and psychological value at the time, psychedelics (including cannabis) have been illegal since, but are now making their way back into the public sphere of influence, particularly in “therapy”. Our stance is that healing and therapy are separate because healing is done publicly and in community. As Wounded Healers Institute (WHI) is recovery-based and has a dissociation-focused mission to help everyone learn about altered states of healing, we have our concerns over their ability to understand the complexities of these medicines, the unconscious states that they produce, and question their authority to retain their power as educated professions. Due to undiagnosed and untreated disorders that they do not know they have, we see their denial for what it is… an addiction.

Recovery tradition holds that psychedelics used in a dissociative state can lead to spiritual awakenings. We see spiritual awakenings as healing, healing as emotionally spiritual, a birthright, and common heritage. Every tribe had a Healer in it and WHI contends that this is different from a therapy. WHI is taking the public fact that they withheld healing medicines from the public and citizenry to the now legal psychedelic medicine of cannabis sativa to raise awareness for the full legalization of all psychedelics immediately. This is the TEST! As we have seen with the daylight savings delay, we expect that they will not be coming to their senses anytime soon. Especially in pursuit of the exponential profits that stand to be gained by these unethical business practices of the benefiting professions. As any recovery community can remember, these are the same institutions that brought the public non-addictive opiates and cigarettes, stated that mental health is due to a chemical imbalance, imprisoned the diagnosable, and started the COVID pandemic.

WHI is holding a healing performance to publicly honor those who died, were arrested, imprisoned, and punished for following their heart instead of their fear. We honor those that were criminalized and pathologized in a senseless War on Drugs and wish to raise awareness on our current concerns relating to current trends. This is all a sign of pathology that our research highlights is missing from current diagnostic standards and standard practices of care. We see how these systematic pathological behavior relates to our specialties on trauma, dissociation, and addiction. As government and business practices appear to remain “business as normal”, citizens have remained the victim of their lack of leadership, moral development, and common sense. The American War on Drugs was a war against its own citizens, we feel the need to also bring into focus the lack of Veteran access to quality and humane healthcare and victims of COVD.

WHI also provides ongoing consultations and educational programming to ensure psychedelic integration and healing.

*People who are actively psychotic, are having difficulties in their daily functionings, are actively self-harming or addicted, or are suicidal or homicidal are asked to seek professional services and not attend.

A brief screening, informed consent, and waivers are required to attend.

ABOUT THE SHOW

In 1967 the hippies held a funeral for the hippy in Haight-Ashbury because they were making LSD illegal.  WHI now seeks to “raise the dead” from the missing years in between and honor those who took these medicines anyway. As a creative expression, this is a live performance of healing with improvised music, guided historical narratives, humbled meditation, cosmic philosophy, and electric poetry.

WHI is providing a creative synthesis of our research findings by having participants experience live healing. A brief orientation performance to our purpose, mission, and research is creatively performed. Dr. Adam then performs live healing with participants using psychedelic cannabis, meditative approaches, breathwork, live improvised music, and an experiential education on mindful dissociation.

Follow us on YouTube and Rumble (not up yet) for more details (under the Cannabis Tests Playlist HERE.)

There is space for 75 people to lay down and vibe.

We will have medical and psychological professionals and paramedics on hand. We will have psychedelic floaters to help support your questions and needs.

*Do not come to a venue under the influence if you can. If prescribed medical cannabis, please take your medicine as prescribed and continue to be a good citizen.

All imbibing (smoking) is required to be outside. Edibles and digestibles are suggested for health reasons.

Recovery community is welcome! Participants do not have to ingest any substances to attend.

You will probably become high just by attending this healing show, but we will educate on that first. This show involves people who are considered Participants and others who are Witnesses. Participants are actively lying down with eyes closed or with shades (we do not supply eye shades) on. Witnesses are people who are watching the performance and the healing process. Witnesses are Participants with eyes open so healing by observing is more than possible.

We trust that the individual attending will responsibly respect our process and independent standing in the community.

Live music from Gratefully Yours to immediately follow at 6pm.

ABOUT WHI

WHI is an independent research institute that was created as a result of Dr. Adam’s research on trauma, dissociation, and addiction. WHI was also created in response to the current political and cultural climate to advocate for common sense and against moral ignorance. The tradition of healing in community has a long history that has been mostly forgotten in our modern times. Reinstating the public profession of Healer as a recovery advocation means that WHI/we are standing against professions that deny access and laws that deny common sense and established research. As a point of recovery advocacy, WHI is reestablishing the practice of psychedelic recovery for those willing to learn the tradition of the Healer.

Healing, as a tradition and profession, has almost been eradicated by the industrialization of modern medicine and bureaucratic bullying. The moral judgment, failing, and label is upon them now. From our research, the profession of Healer emerges as a standalone profession willing to educate those who don’t know the powers of dissociation and dangers of medicines, particularly psychedelic medicines.

Because industrialized standardization has essentially conditioned fear into the population, it becomes the individual’s responsibility to regain their sanity back. WHI helps participants not only learn from psychedelic medicine, but also how to grow from them. WHI offers re-education on drug policy and practices. WHI seek to create psychedelic recovery community, based on recovery principles, and help the general public learn and heal from our collective past. WHI educates on how to “mindfully dissociate” to best use cannabis as psychedelic medicine to aid ongoing healing from everyday stress, industrial modernization, and shared life events.
