WHI Community Policy

Cannabis Safety and Policy for Each Service

Because we operate different services within the same organization (e.g., training institute [training], gym and spa [coaching], consultation, advocacy, research), our safety measures are based on best practices and industry standard. For people who are new to using cannabis products, we provide basic education for harm reduction purposes.

*For all in-person services: Participants are to only imbibe when in WHI ceremony, training, retreat, or class. Participants agree to not come in under the medicine, other than their prescribed dosage. Participants who attend our services, trainings, and events agree to not drive again until sober. Participants who imbibe (smoke) cannabis sativa (THC) must wait three hours before driving home from our events. People who ingest edibles must wait at least five hours before driving. Our services are structured in a way that requires people to imbibe at specific times, so all imbibing must end two to three hours prior to ceremony closure.

People with a valid medical cannabis license: Please take your medications as prescribed by your provider and follow your existing care plan. CBD users can leave at any time. All participants must sign a waiver before attending and before driving home.

For all online services: Participants agree to not drive after WHI ceremony, training, retreat, or class.

For participants in training and events: WHI must have your location and emergency contact on file.

People in coaching, consultation, and/or advocacy: You must have an emergency contact and location address on file.

For formal research studies that involve clients using cannabis online: You must have an emergency contact, location address, and local emergency services on file. We expect the need for this to be rare.

For informal research: You must have your location and an emergency contact on file.

If an issue should arise at any live event or service (other than research), WHI will try checking-in in this order: verbally, chat feature in the online platform, texting, phone calling, then calling the emergency contact.

If the emergency contact is not at that location or is otherwise disposed and the participant is unresponsive to our attempts at contacting them, WHI checks-in in this order: texting, phone calling, then calling the emergency contact.

If there is no response from the emergency contact, WHI calls the local emergency number for the address on file.
