Policies and Emergencies

These are outlined in more detail in the Informed Consent.

Policy’s: Generally, the main policies that apply to our services, which are all reviewed in the Informed Consent, are that we have a 48-hour cancelation policy for sessions 1-hour or less and a 96-hour cancelation policy on sessions over 1-hour or you may be charged for the price of the missed scheduled session. Emergencies are considered and at the discretion of your provider.

There is a case management fee that is applied to emails or coordinating care that is above and beyond the scope of in-session therapy. If reading or composing an email response or care coordination takes longer than 10-15 minutes then the case management fee can be applied.

Court Clause: If a court case requires your provider to attend court then you are liable for all of your providers legal fees and any other expenses (travel expenses, travel time, housing, emotional preparation). The fees are $4000 for a day and a full-day is the minimum for each day required to be in court (because I will have to cancel my day). The same hourly rate is applied to coordinating court cases and emotional time is also charged at this rate as well. Pro-rating is not available.

Emergencies: What to do in case of an emergency. We are an outpatient service, which means that if you need more acute care (immediate, medically necessary because you or someone else is or may get hurt) then we recommend following through with emergency services like 911.

If you are having psychological crisis, please review grounding and coping skills. If you need more immediate psychological care, please go to the nearest emergency services. (In Columbia or Greene County, MCAT is 518-943-5555 and is available 8am-10pm, 7 days a week. If you need to directly connect with us after hours, we will support your needs and additional crisis session would be charged at the same billing rates.

If you need emergency care, then please go to the nearest ER. We are not a crisis service.

If suicidal, call the national hotline at: 988
