Understanding the Path of the Wounded Healer
We believe that everyone needs to be regulated before they can address any trauma to the fullest capacity. We are not alone in this opinion, as it is the standard of care for all trauma treatments. However, our requirement level for regulation is Bio/Neurofeedback and we believe that it should be the clinical standard that we subscribe to. Psychology needs this to be the standard because their decisions affect the rest of our clients lives, particularly in the legal realm of our society.
Trauma, dissociation, and addictions are subjective terms, meaning that they are defined relative to the person defining it. However, some experiences are traumatic by default because they make a lasting impression on the body, of which, the mind (society/culturally) does not always see or recognize these as traumas or they are normalized to such a point that they are considered everyday life. The conscious answer is not the most informed answer because it does not always account for the unconscious mind or our (or other peoples) emotional world. As the body is our unconscious, its form of communication is through our symptoms, illnesses, disease, and disorders. This is mainly why people are seeking help and support.
We made this decision tree to help inform you what you are getting yourself into either as a trainee or a coaching client. However, we have to recognize that healing is a lifelong endeavor and daily maintenance is needed to maintain the health (physically, psychologically, and spiritually) that you do have.
Traumatic factors to consider: Type of traumas, when they occurred, by whom, and are they resolved are all factors in how long your care will last. Most people are coming to services because the past is unresolved in some way and is pouring into their life today effecting their abilities to navigate their lives. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOU ARE DIAGNOSABLE CURRENTLY. WE DO NOT DIAGNOSE, WE ASSESS AND SCREEN YOU FOR OUR SERVICES. IF YOU NEED CLINICAL CARE, WE WILL TELL YOU WHAT WE THINK. IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN CLINICAL CARE, YOU CAN USE OUR SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH YOUR CURRENT SERVICES. THIS IS A GYM AND SPA FOR MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. NOT ALL SITUATIONS ARE DIAGNOSABLE SO WE SUPPORT GETTING REGULATED SO YOU CAN DO THE CLINICAL WORK AT THE RIGHT CLINICAL TIME.
The first step in our process is to perform our screening and assessment or training interview, depending on your goals.
