THE WOUNDED HEALERS ASSOCIATION & GUILD

A Professional Home for the Wounded Healer. Uniting those who have “been there and come back” to protect the sacred art of healing from the industry of treatment, perfectionism, altruism, and ambition addictions.

MISSION & PURPOSE

The Guild vs. The Industry For too long, the healing professions have been dominated by “Legal-Ethics”—a fear-based system of liability management, bureaucratic compliance, and pathologizing the normal human experience.

The Wounded Healers Guild is different. We are a professional association and protective guild for those who operate under “Moral-Ethics”—the conviction that prioritizing human well-being and truth supersedes unjust regulations or profit motives.

Our Responsibility:

  • To Define the Profession: We establish “Healer” as a distinct professional identity, separate from “Clinician” or “Therapist,” grounded in the authority of lived experience and the Addiction as Dissociation Model (ADM).
  • To Protect the Practitioner: We provide the shield necessary for Healers to practice with integrity, offering resources for legal defense and professional liability support.
  • To Advocate for the Right to Heal: We challenge systemic barriers to healing, including the criminalization of nature (psychedelics) and the over-medicalization of trauma.

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

Why Join the Guild? Membership is not just a badge; it is a shield. As a member of the Wounded Healers Guild, you gain access to an ecosystem designed to protect your livelihood and advance your craft.

1. Professional Protection & Risk Management

  • Defense Fund Access: A portion of all membership dues contributes to a restricted Defense Fund. This fund is designed to support members facing regulatory overreach or “scope of practice” challenges while practicing within the Guild’s Code of Moral-Ethics.
  • Insurance Facilitation: Access to group rates for professional liability insurance specific to “Healers,” “Personal Trainers” and “Holistic Practitioners.” *Note: The Guild facilitates access to third-party carriers; we are not an insurance broker

2. Academic & Clinical Authority

  • Journal Subscription: Full digital access to the Wounded Healers Institute Journal (WHIJ), the premier academic publication for qualitative research on ADM and PWH.
  • The Healer Directory: A public-facing listing for Certified Wounded Healers, validating your status to potential clients as a professional who has “done the work”.

3. Community & Advocacy

  • Peer Support Networks: Monthly “Guild Hall” virtual gatherings to debrief, connect, and prevent burnout without the fear of judgment found in clinical supervision.
  • Whistleblower Support: Guidance and support for professionals who refuse to be “professional finks” for a broken system.

THE CODE OF MORAL-ETHICS

We Do Not Just Treat; We Heal. Guild members adhere to a standard higher than state compliance. We adhere to the Code of Moral-Ethics:

  1. Lived Experience as Expertise: We honor the wisdom gained from our own recovery and near-death experiences (metaphorical or literal).
  2. Unconscious Informed Consent: We respect the body as the psychological unconscious and seek permission from the whole person, not just the cognitive mind.
  3. Right to Try: We advocate for the responsible use of all tools—including plant medicines and “superfoods”—that support the body’s innate healing systems (endocannabinoid/endogenous opiate and psychedelic systems).
