EMDR CONSULTING
Dr. Adam O’Brien was an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, Approved Consultant until 2025 when he let these expire and essentially let them retire so he could start his own EMDR Healing Education and Training Program with Wounded Healers Institute. What this means is that he is not EMDRIA-approved and these credentials don’t mean much nowadays, so if what you want are these, then we can help you find somewhere else. Our educational process and training for any certification is based on what they did not teach, what they did not know, and why they did not know it.
He holds a PhD in Addiction Studies, is doing his post-doctoral work in Applied Recovery, and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State. He has experience working with addictions (chemical and behavioral), C-PTSD, dissociative disorders (DDNOS and DID), domestic violence, victims of crime, first responders, veterans, children, adolescents, and adults. Adam has regularly been doing trauma resolution “intensives” sessions for years and prefers this method. He has agency, EAP, intensive outpatient, community-based settings, and residential experience. He specializes in preverbal, intergenerational, historical/cultural, medical, and spiritual abuse, psychedelic integration, and harm reduction. He also has excellent experience with the 12-steps, recovery, integrative medicine, loss, anger, and adoption. He is well-versed in Ego State Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Psychedelic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Progressive Counting (PC), and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). Adam is also a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist. He was a Certified/Approved Consultant in Brainspotting (BSP) and let those expire as well.
Group: Monthly Consulting Last Wednesday of the Month 12-2 EST.

Bulk Rate: 200$ for five 2-hour (total = 10 hours) group consultations – Pay HERE (Cannot be applied to speciality groups.)

Specialty Group: Addiction as Dissociation EMDR Group Consultation
Developed by Dr. Adam O’Brien and Dr. Jamie Marich, Addiction as Dissociation Model is a contending theory on addictions. This speciality group is based on Dr. Adam’s advanced topics course “Treating Addiction as Dissociation with EMDR Therapy” and will reference setting up an Ego State Meeting Area, Addressing Toxic Shame, Bulk Flash, and treating Addiction Memory.

2-Hour SPECIALTY ADDICTION AS DISSOCIATION MODEL EMDR CONSULTATIONS for 2023:

Time: 12-2 EST
Cost: $50 for 2-hour consultation (minimum of 4 to have group. Use same contact info to register. Once we have 4, I will send out more details. If 4 is not reached, you can be put on the next one.)

(These 2 or 4-hours of EMDR therapy group consultation are for foundational training and/or certification.
For the 4-Hour: Maximum of 10 participants (minimum of 5 participants for the group to take place)
**Addiction as Dissociation** WHI EMDR Healing Certification Track w/ class
For clinicians who have completed their foundational training in EMDR, this certification track can include two 4-hour intensives and 1 two hour. 10 hours of group and 10 individuals are required for certification but any combination will work however, these special topic groups are better able to focus on clients who have addiction and recovery needs. This track is intended for addiction professionals but any professional who recognizes that addiction presents in a variety of mental health disorders are welcome.
Certification Track CLASS (Trauma Resolution Path) With the class you will get access to select recordings and PWH material.
Individual consultations can range from 5-10 hours with Adam.

Group Guidelines
1. Consultees are expected to come prepared to ask questions about EMDR therapy phases, protocols, AIP model, and/or present case material with specific questions for consultation.
2. Please use the case consultation form for guidance on presenting cases, and have this form completed prior to the start of the consultation.
3. Do not include any information that will identify the case(s) you are presenting.
4. If you miss any portion of the scheduled group, you may schedule an individual time to make up the hours as Adam’s schedule allows (for an additional fee)
5. Consultation is not supervision. Consultation focuses on mastery of standard EMDR therapy and integrating EMDR into your practice. You are responsible for the therapeutic relationship with your clients and your competency in the modalities you offer. As a consultant, I do not hold liability for how you practice.
6. 24-hrs notice is required for cancellation, or you may be charged in full.
7. Arriving a couple of minutes late is permissible but after 5 – 10 minutes your time will be reduced by how late you are. You will have to make it up individually or join another group.
