WHI (Re)education Program for Integrating Trauma, Dissociation, and Universal Addictions
Core Philosophy
The Path of the Wounded Healer (PWH) is founded on a critical distinction between “Healing” and “Treatment.” Treatment is an external, symptom-focused intervention aimed at “fixing” a problem. Healing is a holistic, experiential process of self-actualization that honors the individual’s innate wisdom and lived experience. PWH is a “dissociative-focused phase model” designed to guide participants on an internal journey of transformation. It is a form of (re)education that deconstructs flawed societal paradigms and provides the tools to integrate the fragmented self, resolve developmental and attachment trauma, and transform the very wounds that cause suffering into a source of profound strength and wisdom.
Target Audience
This program is designed for a diverse audience seeking a deeper, more integrated path to wellness and self-knowledge. Our primary participants include:
- Mental health professionals seeking advanced dissociation-informed and addiction-informed training that transcends the limitations of the conventional medical model.
- Individuals in recovery from trauma and addiction who are looking to deepen their healing journey beyond symptom cessation and connect with the root causes of their suffering.
- Healers, guides, coaches, and caregivers experiencing burnout or vicarious trauma who wish to build resilience and transform their personal wounds into professional wisdom.
- Citizens seeking self-knowledge, post-traumatic growth, and the tools to navigate a world rife with systemic dysfunction and collective trauma.
Program Curriculum: A Phased Model for Transformation
1. Module 1: Orientation – Deconstructing the Industrialized Mind
- Description: This foundational module provides a critical analysis of the pathology of our current systems of psychology, law, and medicine. We introduce concepts such as the system’s developmental immaturity (“7-12 year-old logic”) and its “quantitative addiction.” Participants will learn to identify how these flawed paradigms perpetuate trauma through policies like the “War on Drugs”—a war on healing—and hinder true healing by promoting systemic gaslighting and institutional betrayal. The primary goal is to unlearn the cultural conditioning that prevents us from seeing the true nature of suffering.
2. Module 2: The Foundational Wound – Understanding the Addiction as Dissociation Model (ADM)
- Description: This module offers a deep dive into the Addiction as Dissociation Model (ADM), defining trauma, dissociation, and addiction as a unified, transdiagnostic spectrum created by the “unmet desire to heal.” Participants will move beyond narrow definitions to explore “universal addictions”—the compulsive patterns that affect us all. We will specifically analyze the “positive pathologies” of perfectionism, altruism, and ambition as adaptive, trauma-related dissociative states that are often praised by a sick society.
3. Module 3: The Embodied Archive – Accessing the Unconscious Body
- Description: This experiential module introduces the core principle that “the physical body is the psychological unconscious.” Through somatic awareness practices drawn from yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness, participants will learn how to listen to the body’s wisdom. The focus is on developing interoception—the capacity to feel internal sensations—and identifying where trauma is physically stored, thereby unlocking the body’s innate capacity for release and healing.
4. Module 4: The Healing State – Activating Memory Reconsolidation (MR)
- Description: Here, we teach the theory and practice of Memory Reconsolidation (MR) as the universal algorithm for healing trauma. Participants will learn to create and sustain “dual attention states” (mindful dissociation) through guided meditation, breathwork, and other experiential practices. This module demystifies the healing process by explaining the core mechanism of action found in highly effective therapies like EMDR and Brainspotting, empowering participants with the ability to facilitate their own neurobiological transformation.
5. Module 5: The Moral Compass – Navigating Legal-Ethics vs. Moral-Ethics
- Description: This module explores the profound conflict between systemic compliance (“Legal-Ethics”) and individual conscience (“Moral-Ethics”). Using case studies such as psychedelic prohibition and the “diagnostic privilege fiasco,” we will develop participants’ capacity for moral courage, critical thinking, and effective advocacy. The goal is to cultivate an internal compass that prioritizes genuine well-being over fear-based obedience to unjust rules.
6. Module 6: The Healer’s Archetype – Integrating Your Wounded Healer Story
- Description: The final module focuses on the transformative power of lived experience. Participants are guided in reframing their personal histories of suffering, not as a source of shame, but as the crucible in which their greatest wisdom was forged. This includes submitting a personal “wounded healer’s story” and cultivating the qualities of moral fortitude and embodied wisdom that define the Healer profession, whose primary role is to undiagnose.
Experiential Components & Learning Outcomes
Core Practices
The PWH curriculum is deeply experiential, integrating the following practices throughout the modules:
- Guided Meditations: Specifically designed to cultivate dual attention states, enhance somatic awareness, and facilitate the process of Memory Reconsolidation.
- Meeting Area Screening and Assessment (MASA): An innovative tool for self-inquiry that allows participants to map their internal landscape and achieve “Unconscious Informed Consent” with themselves before engaging in deep healing work.
- Journaling & Creative Expression: Dedicated time and prompts for processing insights, integrating session material, and giving voice to the personal “wounded healer story.”
- Peer-Support Pods: Small group settings designed to foster a community of healing, shared wisdom, and relational support, mirroring the communal nature of true recovery.
- Psychedelic Care Education: A non-experiential educational component providing a comprehensive overview of the history, science, and moral-ethics of using psychedelics as powerful catalysts for facilitating the healing process.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the PWH program, participants will be able to:
- Identify and track dissociative states in themselves and others.
- Apply the principles of Memory Reconsolidation for self-regulation and trauma processing.
- Distinguish between fear-based “Legal-Ethics” and conscience-driven “Moral-Ethics.”
- Articulate their personal “wounded healer” narrative as a source of strength and purpose.
- Embody the moral courage and embodied wisdom of the Healer archetype in their personal and professional lives.
