Who Declared War on Whom?
Poem By: Dr. Adamé
They said time existed and now it doesn’t again.
They said it was now, but really it was then.
They said the world was flat and now it’s round.
They said I was lost, but I was found.
They said the Sun revolved around the Earth and now a new lens.
They said there is only one “god” and now they don’t know agains.
They said the Earth was the center of the Universe and now she bends.
They said we were alone in the Universe and now we have new friends.
They said the universe started with a bang and now it is an endless kiss.
They said there’s “one” universe and now there are many endless states of this bliss.
They called it an unsinkable ship and now it’s a tomb.
They said Teflon was harmless but now it’s forever in our wombs.
They said processed food was okay to eat and now it’s not.
They said raw meat was bad and now it’s hot.
They said milk was good for you, and now it’s not.
They said there were four food groups and now they make us clot.
They said it was an effective vaccine and now it’s was always a flu shot.
They said psychology was fact when it is also soft fiction.
They said quantitative science over qualitative review and now there’s some friction.
They said they had a non-addictive drug and now they’re addicted.
They said that there were weapons of mass destruction predicted.
They said that they wouldn’t make their own and now more are dead.
They said they wouldn’t get married but the government is in the bed.
They still say that addiction is all about drugs when it’s not.
They said they were coming to help and ended up the sot.
They said drugs are no good and now they’re all we got.
They said drugs are bad and science shows an opposite lot.
They said no medical value to psychedelics and now that’s all there is.
They said it was due to a “chemical imbalance” and not from the industrial Pharm biz.
They said addiction was a choice but did not name where it is made,
when addiction becomes dissociation, we become what we swear and a sage.
They said trauma was “an abnormal response to an abnormal event,”
when in reality, it is the exact opposite.
They called the unconscious “inaccessible” to the conscious mind,
when the unconscious is the body, we all become wise.
They said addiction was a moral failing and now that is theirs,
when in reality, the ocean is filled with all of our tears.
